Lucille B.S. Lee passed away on March 28, 2012, with her family at her bedside. She was born on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, in 1921, she married James Lee in 1942 and they had two sons. In 1948 the family relocated with a number of others who were employed at Hickam Air Force Base to McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento, California. Two daughters were born there, and Sacramento became home for the Lee family. She was active in her children’s lives serving as a room mother, Scout leader, PTA member, and home maker. As the children became older she held a variety of part-time jobs and cultivated friendships with neighbors and acquaintances. Food was the center of the Lee home and Lucille was known as the best cook in the family. She will be missed for her generosity, kindness and Hawaiian spirit. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990 and is survived by her children Kelvin and Eugene Lee, Alicia Horn, Lucile Berger, 7 grand children and 8 great grand children. Services will be private. The family asks that remembrances be made in Lucille Lee’s name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
