Kenneth W. Cook was born March 12, 1926 in Jamesville, WI and passed peacefully on Friday February 3, 2012 in Roseville, CA at the age of 85. He and his wife Hedi were residents of the Little Pocket Area of Sacramento for over 50 years. Ken was the eldest of three sons. He had a love of music early on especially big band music, which brought him much pleasure throughout his life. He was also a classic movie buff. Over the years he enjoyed many road trips to visit the national parks he loved. He bravely served in the Army throughout Europe during WWII and met his future wife Hedi, at the end of the war in a Red Cross club in Miltenberg, Germany. They were married for 63 years. Ken attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He retired from the U.S. Post Office after almost four decades of service. Ken is survived by his wife Hedi, their daughter Barbara (Brian) Comnes of Ashland, OR, their son Steven (Denette) Cook of Roseville and grandchildren Lucia, Bret, Evan, Isabela, Eddy and Jerrad. A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1701 L Street, Sacramento on Saturday March 3rd at 11:00 a.m.
