James William Knight

Born Oct. 28, 1935 in Quincy, MA. Died July 4 in Roseville with his family by his side. Survived by his wife Marjorie; his sister Miriam of Houston; his son Dennis Knight (Patricia) and daughters Rebecca Bennett (Mitchell) and Brenda Chacon (Ramon). Grandchildren: Austin, Sophia and Rachel Bennett; Catherine and Isabella Knight; Chance, Quentin and Cruz Chacon.

A graduate of Boston College where he majored in physics and a Naval officer for 10 years, Jim moved West to San Jose and was a dedicated employee of Ford Aerospace for 25 years before retiring.

Wherever he was from Washington D.C. to Turkey, to San Jose and then here in Roseville, Jim made friends for life. He and Marge moved to Sun City, Roseville in 1999.

Jim embraced the community and loved playing golf. A handyman who loved to take on projects, Jim was dedicated to his work, loyal to his friends and was a family man first and foremost. He loved his wife and children and instilled the importance of family into them. A man of faith, Jim was a devout Catholic whose belief in God sustained him until the end.

He treated his son in laws and daughter in law like they were his own and was a proud grandfather, constantly talking about his clan.

A great man who will be missed, Jim will be remembered fondly every fourth of July, when the fireworks hit the skies.

Funeral mass 11 a.m., Monday, July 11 at St. Clare Church, 1950 Junction Blvd., Roseville. Reception at Roseville Elks Club, 3000 Brady Lane, 1:30-4:30 p.m.
