A much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Faye Schreiber (Mima), 76, of Grass Valley CA, passed away peacefully at her home August 5, 2012 with her family by her side. She had bravely confronted and fought cancer.
Faye was born August 7, 1935 in Allentown PA, and resided in Vacaville and Grass Valley CA. She graduated from Allentown High School in 1953 and married her forever love, Paul Schreiber on December 17, 1955. She worked as a bookkeeper at Pacific Hardware, a supervisor with the State of California and worked for Placer County libraries.
Faye was an active member of the Sierra Presbyterian Church and the P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization). Before moving closer to Grass Valley she was an active member of Sierra Pines Methodist Church and of the LOP Firebelles.
Faye loved children and her favorite activities were caring for children, involvement in Vacation Bible School and teaching Sunday school. She loved to act and sing and was involved in Community Theater and plays at church.
Mima was a wonderful Mom and Grandma not just to her immediate family but she also adopted anyone who needed mothering. Faye is now holding the children of heaven in her arms and caring for them until they are reunited with their families.
Faye is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Paul Schreiber of Grass Valley; son David Schreiber and wife Andrea; daughter Fayann Perez and husband Frank; daughter Diane Carpenter and husband Armel; son Matthew Schreiber and wife Tracy; grandchildren Alec, Noah, Amanda, Zachary, Walker, Marni, Lacey, Holden, Logan, and Ainsley and great grandchildren Carson, Cameron, Joseph, Jordan, Jacob, Rachel, Bailey, Marissa, Summer, and Devin.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2012, at Sierra Presbyterian Church, 175 Ridge Rd, Nevada City. All who were touched by Faye are welcome and we encourage wearing bright colors in celebration of her bright and happy smile.
