She grew up in Mountain View, CA and graduated from Mountain View High School where she was a cheerleader, homecoming queen and student body vice president.   She attended the University of the Pacific and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communicative Disorders in 1989 and her Master of Arts Degree in Speech Pathology from UOP in 1990.

Dana went to work for San Joaquin County Office of Special Education for two years before beginning her career for the Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) in October 1993 as a Language, Speech and Hearing Specialist, and an Impact of Crime on Victim’s trainer at Johanna Boss High School.  In August 1999 she accepted a position as an Instructional Designer and developed training for the DJJ Basic Supervisor’s Academy, Basic Peace Officer’s Academy and Educator’s Academy. She was the Training Center’s representative to the Supervisor’s Development Steering Committee and helped to develop performance standards for first line supervisors as well as field parole agents. She played the piano beautifully, loved scrapbooking, her dinners with the “girls” and having friends in for Mark’s barbeques, but most of all Dana loved family . . . and her closest friends were considered “family,” too.

  1. I know that you don’t know me, but I lost my Mom this week also. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with your family and your loved one. She sounds like someone I would have liked to have known.
