Chuck Moore

20 January 2011

January 23, 1961 – January 15, 2011

Devoted and loving husband and father Chuck Moore passed away suddenly on Saturday January 15, 2011. The Lord brought him home peacefully and on the go.  He was born in Nebraska, but resided in Orangevale, CA for the last 22 years, and lived his childhood in the greater Reno area.  He was part of the winning Wooster High School football team from 1976-1979, graduated and then became a self-employed entrepreneur in the transportation and finance industries for the next 33 years.  He had a passion for God, family and country and spent the majority of his life serving that which he loved.  Oh and don’t forget his spider solitaire obsession/profession.  He is survived by his loving wife Vikki, daughters Stacia Lenz and Denise Moore, his son Zacharias Moore, son in law Matt Lenz, three grandchildren, Calista Moore, Matthew and Makylah Lenz, siblings Dale Moore, Nance Marston, Darrel Moore, Reta Lawson, and twin sister Cindy Snyder.  Friends are invited for visitation on Saturday January 22 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am and to attend a celebration of his life at 10:00 am, both at the Heritage Oaks Memorial Chapel 6920 Destiny Dr. Rocklin CA.

  1. I remember watching my brother playing high school football with a bloody nose. He continued to play. egnoring the pain. I admired him for not giving it up for the team. He was always there to protect me from the high school bully. Chuck touched many hearts including mine.

  2. Dear Vikki & Family,
I’m just in shock. I’m so very sorry for your loss. I was very shocked to get an email from Darrel that had a link to Chuck’s obit & no other news. I can’t believe this shocking news & being family wasn’t prepared to learn of his death this way. May the Lord take care of all of you & he will bring you through this great loss.

Love, Mary Sabin (Chuck’s Cousin in NE)

  5. Chuck was a “Legend” football player at Wooster High School. His mental and physical toughness along with his love for the game was absolutely incredible. Chuck was highly respected and loved by his coaches and teammates. We are all saddened and crushed by his loss. He was such a special player and person. We will miss him dearly. Our prayers are with his family.

    • Coach Joe Sellers,
What a wonderful surprise to hear from you! Football was one of my dad’s favorite past times. In fact up until 2 years ago (age 47) he was still playing “turkey bowl” with his son in-law Matt and son Zacharias. The last time he played Zach and my dad went up against each other on opposite sides to show off their “toughness” long story short my brother broke my dads nose and all it took was a quick snap back in to place and he was ready for some more action. We have heard so many stories from his football years. We were so touched to hear from you.

Thank you from our family to yours,
Stacia Lenz (Daughter of Chuck Moore)
