In The Community

We are proud to be part of the Sacramento Region communities and are active participants in area outreach and organizations. Here are some of the local community activities we are affiliated with, participate in, or actively support.

Every 15 Minutes Program at Local High Schools

We are pleased to support and participate in the “Every 15 Minutes” program at local high schools.  “Every 15 Minutes” is a program that graphically illustrates to high school students the adverse consequences of driving while under the influence. We would prefer to help keep kids alive than to plan their funeral!

Read the Press Tribune Article about Oakmont High School’s Every 15 Minutes program.

Visit the National Every 15 Minutes website.

Sober Grad Night

We are pleased to support Sober Grad Night at various local high schools. We recognize the benefit of supporting events that keep kids safe.  High School Sober Grad Night events are organized by parents and are funded through donations from local businesses, alumni, ticket sales and individuals who see the value of providing a safe, drug-and-alcohol-free environment for graduates to celebrate their accomplishments.

Local Seminars

Hope, Healing and Help

Good Grief – How to process your loss with healthy grieving.

Our Funeral Home and Chapel TestimonialsAfter the death of our youngest son, Zachary, in 2006, we became students of grief so that we can help others who have to travel this journey. Chris has studied under Dr. Darcie Sims to earn her certification as a Grief Support Provider. Together we produced a pamphlet entitled “Now That It’s Over, What Can I Do”, which provides clarification about the Do’s and Don’ts of helping others who are grieving.

Preparing is Caring – Showing you care by preparing for the inevitable.

homc-mural-logo130This seminar provides clarification about end of life issues that can be taken care of such as wills, trusts and related documents. We also discuss the value of pre-planning your own funeral or cremation and the pros and cons of each choice.

This seminar answers these, plus other, questions:

What benefits are available to me as a Veterans?

What benefits are available to me as a resident of my community?

Why are funeral, memorial or celebration-of-life services important?

How does grief relate to the kind of services we plan for?

Why put my wishes in writing?

How can I save money by pre-planning?

All information is presented with an informative yet  lighthearted and positive approach.

Each seminar is 45 minutes long, and we encourage our hosts to serve light refreshments. These seminars can be scheduled individually or together with a break in between. These seminars are a service of Hope, Healing and Help, they are educational, and we will not try to sell any products during the seminars.

To schedule a seminar, or attend our next one, call 916-791-2273 and ask for Ron.
